If you are an EPF member or subscriber or pensioner and submitted a claim in any of the PF offices across India, you can check your EPF claim status online from your home.

Here we are giving you simple steps to check EPF claim status online.

Step 1: Keep PF Account Number Handy.

To check your EPF balance you need to know your PF Account Number. It is normally mentioned on your salary slip. If it is not then contact your HR to get your PF Number.

Step 2: Check your PF Number whether in New or Old Format.

EPFO is updating its process and digitizing its processes, subscriber accounts etc. In this effort recently EPFO has revised the PF establishment code for employers, this is the new format of PF Account Number. But many employers are still using old PF Number format on salary slips.

If you don’t have new format PF account number then you can check revised PF Account number at link given below.

Step 3: Check EPF Claim Status Online.

3-A. Go to ‘Claim Status Information’ link given below


3-B. Select you PF Office state from dropdown.

3-C. Select your EPFO office code. (Note: You can find it on your PF account number).

3-D. Fill the online form with your PF number, your name (as it appears on salary slip) and your mobile number.

3-E. Click on ‘Submit Button’.

TDS on PF Withdrawal

The Government has raised the threshold limit of PF withdrawal for TDS from existing Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000. The Finance Act 2016 has amended section 192A of Income Tax Act 1961 to raise the limit.

No TDS will be deducted in the following cases.

  1.  EPF subscriber transfers PF from one account to another PF account.
  2. Termination of EPF subscriber’s service due to ill health of subscriber / discontinuation of Business by employer / completion of project / other cause beyond the control of member.
  3. When employee/subscriber withdraws PF after a period of five year.
  4. If PF payment amount is less Rs.50,000.
  5. If subscriber/employee withdraws amount more than or equal to Rs. 50,000 with service less than 5 years but submits Form 15G/15H along with their PAN.

TDS will be deducted if employee withdraws amount more than or equal to Rs. 50,000 with service less than 5 years, then

  1. TDS will be deducted at the rate of 10% if Form 15G/15H is not submitted provided PAN is submitted.
  2. TDS will be deducted at the rate of maximum marginal rate (i:e. 34.608%) if employee fails to submit PAN.

Please do not comment here for EPF claim status enquiry number. If you EPF claim is not processed since long time or no status update online, file online grievance.
